Alcohol Law Enforcement, one of Responsible Alcohol Sales & Service’s partners, holds free responsible server trainings across North Carolina throughout the year. Known as Be A Responsible Seller (BARS), the training has helped thousands of employees comply with alcohol laws and tobacco laws. Agents informed us that at each of the trainings they conducted, they answered the same few questions over and over again. To help assist them in their efforts, RASS offered to utilize its communication channels to help educate retailers across the state by posting those frequently asked questions and their answers on our site. This event helps RASS meet the objectives it set forth in its Seven-point Plan. We encourage you to use this page as a resource as you and your employees and coworkers attempt to reduce underage alcohol sales in North Carolina. Follow the link below to a list of frequently asked questions that agents have answered during BARS trainings. These answers should not be viewed as legal advice, but as a general guide to help you in your efforts to prevent sales of alcohol to underage persons. In addition to providing answers to these questions, we have also included information on the North Carolina statutes that these answers are taken from. For more information, please contact us.
